Episode 2. German Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest originated on October 12, 1810, in celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festival is currently held annually in Germany over a period of two weeks in Munich, ending on the first Sunday in October.  Each year, Oktoberfest draws more than six million visitors, including many from the outside of Germany.  Lots of beer, sausages, and pretzels are consumed during these festivities.  I was there in 2018 and enjoyed the atmosphere very much.  The videos here show some of the festivities, the history, and most importantly some of the delicious dishes that are often served during Oktoberfest.  Enjoy!
